How To Celebrate New Years in Europe

Most people plan for a while to have the perfect New Years. Many go all out in order to start the New Year off right.

Luckily, I was able to have a memorable New Years without much work.

Around two years ago, I lived in Budapest, Hungary. After my time was finished, my family and I met in London to travel around Europe before we all headed home. It just so happened that…

Club Scene: Infusion Lounge

Today I’ll be discussing another of San Francisco’s most legendary clubs: the Infusion Lounge. Centrally located in the Union Square, Infusion has been blowing up the city since 2009 with its 5-star nightclub rating. The club opened, in fact, on New Year’s Eve just about three years ago, and since then…

Home, Sweet Home

After a short stay in LA, I'm home!  Having spent the majority of my winters in the midwest and east coast, it's a little strange to be experiencing another holiday season without snow but the nice weather made for a pleasant mini-vacay. It was an impromptu trip spent with great people... but I did miss the bay and am happy to be back.  With the New Year right around the corner, it's time to prepare for another big celebration.  (Yikes, the year went by in a blink)

I feel like…

Russia: Celebrating the New Year...Twice

One of the most popular holidays in the West is Christmas.  We all probably have a friend that is obsessed with Christmas and goes all out when it comes around each year. And it is not hard to find a store that is solely dedicated to Christmas decorations and the like.

But in Russia, New Years is the most popular time of the year. Back…

UFC 141 Lesnar VS Overeem

All I can say about the UFC 141, Lesnar VS Overeem fight tomorrow at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas is that it is going to be ridiculous. I feel like a fight is always more intense when the fighters are heavyweights. Every punch, kick and throwdown seems to make more noise and shed more blood. So I know with the #3 and #5 best heavyweight MMA fighters in the world,…

Having "The Talk" in a Relationship

How do you know when you are supposed to have “the talk” in a relationship? When I say “the talk” I’m referring to the discussion about being boyfriend and girlfriend. This blog is going to be a little on the shorter side because to tell you the truth, every relationship is different and there is no exact…

Celebrating the New Year in Africa

Africa is a continent that is full of fascinating history and cultures that most of the world does not know about.

But though there are many different cultures around the world, it seems in the end the majority of people enjoy having a good time and look forward to new beginnings.

Since Africa has such a diverse history, how they celebrate holidays varies depending on what…

Titles in Relationships

Titles in relationships. This is something that is confusing to most people. Are we talking, dating, exclusive? Many people don’t even know their title unless they have had a talk about it with the other person. Of course everyone has his or her own opinion on what it means to date someone or how you…

Chinese New Years

New Years is celebrated differently around the world. One of the most popular celebrations is that of the Chinese New Year.  I live near San Francisco, California and every year they have a Chinese New Year parade. It is a great way to learn about another culture.

In the West, New Years occurs on the same date every year. This is not so for the Chinese New Year.…

Whether it’s a first date, blind date, or you have been hanging out with some one for a month, date nights can be awkward and nerve-wracking. The History of New Years

January 1 has been deemed the first day of a new year. The New Year now is rung in by people partying hard on December 31 and making New Year’s resolutions the next day that they will probably not keep.

How did January 1 become the start of a new year? And have people in the West always greeted the New Year with partying?

Julius Caesar in 46 B.C.  established January 1 as the first day of a new year. January was dedicated to the Roman god Janus, who was the god of doors and…

Ear Candy: Tunes for the Weekend

I generally try to have my blog done and published by the wee hours of the morning but  today (forgive me for the late post) I had to make an exception.  Since I have no family in the west coast to spend time with for the holidays, I decided to take an impromptu road trip to LA with my roommate to join in on some quality time with her fam bam.  So, for the 6(+) hour drive, I set up a nice little “office” in the passenger seat of her car.  We sang, fist-pumped and head-bobbed all the way down…
