Another celebrity collaboration for the affordable clothing line H&M is hitting the stores in May and this one is expected to be extra HOT, because it’s inspired by the talented and glamorous Beyoncé.
Following in the footsteps of other celebrities like soccer sensation David Beckham, singers Lana Del Rey and Vanessa Paradis, the pop star will be featured in TV and print ad campaigns for H&M’s summer collection. The look is inspired by the star’s own style, and although she did not design the collection herself, she did give feedback on the pieces seen in the campaign.
“I’ve always liked H&M’s focus on fun and affordable fashion. I really loved the concept we collaborated on to explore the different emotions of women represented by the four elements-– fire, water, earth and wind. It was a beautiful shoot on a tropical island. It felt more like making a video than a commercial,” says Beyoncé.
It’s a win-win collaboration for both parties as the Swedish retailer benefits from Beyoncé’s superstardom and also attracts different ethnicities to the brand, while the singer can appear more down to earth and accessible to her fans.
Beyoncé also came up with a new song “Standing On The Sun” to go with the commercial, which will be available worldwide online in May. As for the clothes, you can expect to see the staples of a summer wardrobe including dresses, beachwear as well as fringe and tie-dye bikinis from the H&M for Water collection, which donates 25% of their proceeds to WaterAid!
