I constantly see several posts on social media showing extensive excitement for weekends. Well, of course we love weekends! VIP Club Scene promotes the weekends- the two or three day breaks we all get from monotony to just let loose and enjoy ourselves. Everyone needs a good weekend break to split the feeling of never ending work. But today, I thought about the whole weekend thing a bit differently. It was when I heard someone say "live for the weekends."
I know it's hard to find a job doing something you are totally in love with doing. I know the "real world" is critically stressful and can turn even the most optimistic people into cynics. But I also know that nothing is guaranteed, so we should take what is, and just go with it. We should all be less hard on ourselves. We should all give our careers, our morals, our relationships, some leeway.
I don't think we need to live for the weekends. I think Monday through Friday can be some of the most exciting days. What's so wrong with that tequila shot during your lunch break on Monday? Why not enjoy the music on the street when you're walking to work on Wednesday? There is so much we often blink past that could actually make a huge difference. Who would want to live for the weekend when there are moments to enjoy every single day?
I think weekdays have been given a bad rap. Let's turn that around.
