Felix Cartal recently posted on Twitter expressing his gratitude towards fans and fellow artists Kakade and Ofelia K for the success of their song Fakin' It. The song released one year ago has reached 10 million streams and Cartal shared that the message and honesty of the song is what made him most proud of its success. In his tweet, he wrote,
"Making music, or any type of art, has always been about putting yourself out there, unsure of how people will react. It can be hard... really hard, and to some degree, I think anyone who does it, regardless of their success, feels like they don't know what they're doing. That's what this song is about, it's about embracing that feeling, and taking chances anyway."
I first heard Fakin' It right after it was released about a year ago and was immediately satisfied with how powerfully such raw and important lyrics were paired together with a sharp mellow sound. The message is unlike that of any EDM song I've heard before and the beat makes it fun to absorb. It's no surprise the song has gotten over 10 million streams.
