For all the EDM fans out there who might like the occasional ballad but won’t admit it, here’s a remix of Adele’s “Skyfall”, the latest James Bond theme song. With the movie being such a huge blockbuster, it’s pretty much impossible for anyone not to have heard the original song. Many EDM remixes surfaced almost instantly after its release, even though none of them were made official.
This is when I love EDM remixes: you can take a soft sweet ballad and turn it into a club hit while keeping the song recognisable, yet completely different. Here, dubstep artists Clark Kent and Oscar Daniel worked together to deliver this great remix in which they incorporated a lot of bass but not so much that it overpowers the song or Adele’s beautiful vocals. They managed to keep the essence of the original song and added their signature sound to it.
Adele’s vocals work perfectly with EDM production and she’s one of those artists that DJs love to remix. Thomas Gold’s remix of “Set Fire to the Rain” was heard at every EDM festival last year but the mix was only released in the United Kingdom. Let’s hope Adele will authorize future remixes to be released in the United States.
The song is also available for free download on Clark Kent's Facebook page.
